About The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU)
Hong Kong Polytechnic University mengkhususkan diri dalam pendidikan profesional di Hong Kong. Unit pengajaran Universitas dikelompokkan dalam enam fakultas dan dua sekolah, Fakultas Sains Terapan dan Tekstil, Fakultas Bisnis, Fakultas Konstruksi dan Lingkungan, Fakultas Teknik, Fakultas Kesehatan dan Ilmu Sosial, Fakultas Ilmu Budaya, bersama dengan Sekolah desain dan Sekolah Hotel dan Pariwisata Manajemen. Campus
Kampus PolyU terletak di Hung Hom, Kowloon dan mencakup sekitar 9,34 hektar dan berbatasan dengan Palang Harbour Tunnel dan mudah diakses oleh transportasi umum. Kampus ini memiliki fasilitas pengajaran berkualitas tinggi dan infrastruktur, termasuk auditorium multi-tujuan dengan 1.025 kursi dan sebuah studio teater dengan 247 kursi, yang menyediakan tempat berkualitas untuk pertunjukan, pameran, konferensi dan kegiatan mahasiswa lainnya. Mahasiswa Halls kami Residence, yang terletak di Hung Hom Bay Area Reklamasi, menyediakan sekitar 3.000 tempat hostel dan menawarkan berbagai fasilitas umum yang memperkaya kehidupan kampus. Dengan dukungan dari pemerintah, pengembangan Tahap 8 telah dilanjutkan. Konstruksi dimulai pada bulan Agustus 2009 dan tanggal penyelesaian diantisipasi adalah pada kuartal ketiga 2012. Setelah selesai, pembangunan akan menyediakan akomodasi sekitar 25,600m2 dari luas lantai untuk mengajar dan fasilitas penelitian, staf kantor, fasilitas konferensi, kafetaria dan komunal ruang untuk pelaksanaan "3 + 3 + 4" sistem akademik baru dan perkembangan akademik lainnya. Perencanaan untuk Menara Inovasi, pengembangan baru yang terletak di sisi utara-timur kampus, juga berlangsung. Setelah selesai, Menara akan menyediakan akomodasi sekitar 15,000m2 luas lantai bersih, dari yang 3,000m2 akan dibiayai sendiri. Meskipun Sekolah Desain akan menjadi departemen utama pengguna, fasilitas dan ruang untuk digunakan oleh departemen lain dan masyarakat PolyU juga akan disediakan. Bangunan ini juga dijadwalkan selesai pada akhir 2012.
