Foundation in Science

The one-year MAHSA Foundation in Science curriculum is intended specifically for students who have earned a passing grade on the Malaysian SPM, Mathayom Suksa 5, GCE O-level, or an equivalent. This one-year curriculum, which is divided into three semesters of study, is a fast-track equivalent of an A-level.

The curriculum is well-balanced and was created in collaboration with university partners to guarantee that knowledge and skills are successfully integrated, facilitating a smooth transition into the undergraduate program of choice. It is intended to be intense and demanding, giving students the information and abilities that institutions throughout the world greatly value.
 

In addition to incorporating modules from the humanities and general education (Essentials of Modern Age Digital Skills, Qualitative & Creative Thinking, Mental Health 1, Ethos of Life for Self and Society, Communicative English), the curriculum focusses on the fundamentals of pure science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics). A variety of additional activities, including case studies, problem-solving, and project work, are used to supplement this.

With up to 20 hours of contact time per week and up to three hours of Student Success time per week, students will have ample opportunity to interact with instructors and staff. Independent study, research, and getting ready for tests, lectures, and seminars take up the remaining time. Students will be able to exhibit a range of talents through assessments that will take many different forms.
 

Numerous programs, including those in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, biomedical science, physiotherapy, medical imaging, computer science, engineering, accounting, and business, accept graduates of the Foundation in Science program.
